Pasi..I have given TOEFL before and completed my Master's program in USA as well working right now..do i still need to give IELTS? Isn't it supposed to be waived?

after you submit the second set of docs, it is usually a long wait.. again it depends on the visa office. I am in US and my visa office is Buffalo. Looks like there is a looong wait for response from Buffalo office. However, I am yet to submit my second set of docs.. waiting on my IELTS results and doing other doc collection work in between..

Mark_immi, I am not an expert in this immigration process. Just by reading the guide, I would infer that there are only 2 ways to prove your language proficiency. One is through IELTS and the other is through a written proof. You can try the written proof method by giving all the inputs to prove your English skills. It depends on the decision of the immigration officer to waive your IELTS. Safer way is to take IELTS and rest assured. In that way, you can also know your points for the language easily.

Thanks Pasi....Can anyone provide me with some written samples/essays to waive my IELTS...Please send me on my email mark_immi@hotmail.com

Thanks

7.5 for Listening and 6.5 for Reading, Writing and Speaking. These are the minimum grades that you require to claim full 16 points. Even if you get anything greater than this subject to a maximum of 9, you still can only claim 16 points. Anything less though will result in you losing points accordingly.

You received IELTS request on 21.11.09 & you submitted full documents to local CHC on 7.12.09. So did CIO, Sydney request for it?

i got my first AOR from NS on 7 Oct and after that i gave IELTS on 21 Nov and document gathering. and Finally submitted the full application to local visa office on 7th Dec.

Afraz,

Thanks for your reply. But I want to know, when you received first ARO from Sydney on 7 Oct., did you receive IELTS request with that? As in your signature you have mentioned that IELTS was requested on 21.11.09. So was that the request from CIO? That's only I want to know. Thanks

Hi Mani,

My name is Narayanan

I wish to apply to CIC for immigration to Canada too.

Do u mind giving me a mail at nananxyz@rediffmail.com

No it was not requested, i register for the IELTS exam because it is recommmended by CHC and clear all your doubts about the language points. 21 Nov is my exam date. There was no option to input IELST date.
