Nick, which city are you from? Looks like we have totally the same situation. Have you already got your police cert?

Got some news. Today I recieved regular mail with my application. It was returned. The reason is "The cheque/money order/draft is not in Canadian founds". I found at their web site that I could send them 550 CAD or 465 USD, so I sent USD cheque that was declined. Consider this for the future, folks!

So, I'm gonna resubmit my appl with new cheque. They asked me to include their letter in case I'll resumit docs. Hopefuly, it will not take the same long time for the second shot. Is anobody aware of similar cases?

Folks from the US, how did you send money in canadian dollars? When I asked about it in my bank, they told me they could not give money orders in canadian dollars.

Tuxey,

Dont lose heart. Since they have asked you for the letter, you stand a chance for a lesser time of processing the second time whe you resubmit. Let me know once have resubmitted.

Cheers

hi tuxey,
so sad hearing your case.make sure you send the second amount correctly. u may go to your bank and ask them to make a bank draft, others call it demand draft.if ur bank doesnt offer it, u may look for other banks who offer it.make sure its in canadian funds.good luck!!!

Tuxey,

Try Bank of America (Draft Fees 25 USD) or Chase (Draft Fees 45 USD), it will take around 5-6 business days to process a foreign currency draft.

And make sure the bank put right name on DD, they sometimes make a spell mistake.

All the best.

Went to the Bank of America. It was awesome!!!!
I had to create an account, but:
1. My draft will be ready the next day
2. They'll send my appl and the draft to Sydney them self and for free via FedEx
3. They'll send me notification via e-mail once draft is done and sent
4. I payed just 25$

Isn't it great!? :D

Good job Tuxey..all the best..
