all the august filers please be in touch please.my file reached sydney on 14th august and still waiting for aor and i don,t know how many more days i have to wait.
as i read in the forum people are getting aor in 55 to 57 days after it reached at CIO office.

hi evryone,

i have read before from others that if someone ones to know if documents was opened, we may try checking our DD if its been encashed.i followed th same advice.i actually called my bank 5 times but all they say is iits still outstanding.the last time i checked it was sept 30th but not yet encashed.as per july and august filers, i have observed that most DD's were encashed 2-3 days before grantng aor. and before they would say its more or less 75-90 days but i guess CIO has now improved their ways and methods of approving applications.my DD was encashed Oct 2 and aor rcvd via mail Oct 5, just like doc.

it was stated in the email that i have to submitt all forms, again, the ones i have already submitted initially and some others documents. u may check cic.gc.ca and brows for specific visa office requirements under your visa office.my consultant told me that police certificates should be at least 3 months old, also bank statemnt for proof of funds.

goodluck to everyone, ill keep on updating everybody.

application sent to CIO NS: aug 5,2009
rcvd NS: aug 12,2009
DD encashed :Oct 2, 2009
AOR rcvd: Oct 5, 2009

Bobbyshergill,

Yours will be this week or unfailingly early next week. please let us have your post on this forum when you have the AOR as my application was received by CIO on the next working day after yours.

Char, Congrats! Your mail and expectation was fantastic I am sure you are relieved now. A lady for that matter, i salute your courage.

Actually the process is first they check the completeness of applciation, then the eligibility and in the last step they try to verfiy the fee payement. That is why the AOR date is very much near to DD enchased date.

Hope the august filers will get the positive reply from CIO soon.

I am yet to receive the AOR. Thomas Cook is taking a long time to tell me about the status of the DD. Since Char_Bonel is from philipines and has received the AOR, may i assume that NS, CHC distinguishes the application based on the country? Seniors please help. Thanks

well finally i can safely wish you congrats char_bonel!!! All the best for your future process.

jbiyer1982,

i hope your assumptions for the country thing is not CIO's basis of granting AOR. It would be unfair to anyone if CIO grant approval just because someone is from one country and not from another.

There is this one forum that mentioned of not having aor yet since filling application to CIO April of 2009 and it has been 5 months. One senior adviced that if it has been over 3 months, one should check from her/his local visa office instructions for "further processing" is recvd from CIO because there has been incidence of not recving AOR and yet the papers are eligible for next step, maybe mail was lost along the way and before they knew it, the 120 days is over.

But im having positive outlook for july and august fillers because most applicants recv response in average of 55 days.

The first thing that keeps me hoping is the fact that i am sure my documents arrived and was rcvd by CIO and that is sending my files via DHL because i would check my airwaybill number every now and then.

Second, I applied through a consultant. I really took time to luk for a good one.Im not saying that everybody should hire one because one can personally just fill up the forms but for me personally, i dont want to be having the anxiety of thingking if i filled up the forms correctly or have sent the necessary payments because the firm would actually do it for me.

Waiting for results is the hardest part of the process. Not knowing what to expect makes matters worst.
All i can say is " nothing happense by chance, what is, is mean to be". I am only on the initial process and is yet to start the second stage but having positice outlook in life will make us hold on and expect for something good.

good luck evryone!!!

Thanks Char_bonel. By the way Congrats and best of luck for your second stage.
