Which MP to contact for update on application?

Most people have contacted Ralph Goodale for status update on their applications. He holds the position of Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

Ahmed Hussen is currently holding the position of Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship.

I was wondering which one to contact?

What's the point of contacting an MP if you are an outland applicant. You don't live in Canada and are not served by MPs.
Also, contacting an MP doesn't magically speed up your application.

Many of the outland applicants have received update regarding their applications by contacting the MP offices.

I was not hoping to expedite the process but have an idea about where do my file stands.

I already ordered GCMS notes a month and half back but not received them yet. There is three months extension time they are saying.
