Hope to find answer from you guys. Which do you think is a better place to go when you are an Accountant: Calgary or Winnipeg?
Have more distant relatives and friends in Winnipeg than Calgary. But not so sure if they'll accommodate us when we went there. Though there are some offer from few but maybe just for a week or so...

IF possible could you differentiate the two in terms of:
Job availability:
Accountant/Bookkeeper:
Related but with lesser level:
Survival Job:
Cost of Living:
Public Transit:
Child's schooling:
Weather:
Posibility of being stable:

Also I have 3 kids and thinking whether to bring them with us intantly or just wait for a few month so we, my husband and I, can settle before bringing them over.

Any answer would be highly appreciated.

Right now they say a month but sometimes it's a bit longer.

Are you an FSW applicant or an AINP applicant? If you are FSW, then it doesn't matter. If you are AINP, you must land in AB and should give an AB address for your PR card. If you are AINP and they think you are not planning on staying in AB, you could have problems.

Yes, you could do that.

Most provinces will give you 1st day health care if you are moving from another country. The provinces that have a waiting period are ON, BC, NB and QC. Since you are not staying this time however, you don't really qualify to sign up for health care now. To keep your health care, you must normally stay in the province for at least 6 months a year. In ON, there is a special rule for newcomers that you must stay in the province for at least 5 months in your first 6 months.

Yes, a list of goods to follow is for what you plan to bring later.

It is up to your employer if they accept your degrees.

If you are not staying this time, you don't really have to apply for anything. If the address for the PRC doesn't work out, you can get one later when you are in Canada to stay. Same with SIN which is very fast to get. You can get the number in a day and the card itself in 2 weeks. Same thing with medical as I said previously. Bank account you can open later too. I suppose if you are staying at least 2-3 weeks this time, you can apply for your SIN card and you can open a bank account.
Hi Qorax,
I am a newcomer to this forum and have a question:
I am coming to Canada as a FSW. I choose to reside in Montreal for good after landing in Ottawa (and stay there in about 1-2 weeks). After submitting the PRC application and applying for SIN in Ottawa, can I apply for healthcare in Montreal? If I can, is there any restrictions to the healthcare that I apply for in Montreal? I ask this because I cannot stay in ON for 6 months just to obtain the healthcare.
Thank you.

Hi Anu I am also from the insurance field, so far my reasearch shoes that Quebec is the city with lot lot of insurance Jobs, but you need to know French language, hence it is useless for me, then comes GTA and Calgary.

In which line if insurance are you and at what stage you PR application is ? and where do you reside? hope you don't mind sharing the requested info.

Once a PR... we r free to move to any province & settle down there. And once settled we'd receive their healthcare as well irrespective of under which stream we had applied for immigration.
