Just an example that not everything in Canada is expensive. If immigrants want affordability, do not go and live in Toronto or Vancouver. There are lots of other areas where you can have a great life.

I agree with you, however when you first land in a new country, going to the metropolis is often a practical choice to get a job. I left Toronto since then, but still find the price they wanted to charge me for insurance, absolutely ridiculous.

I think it has a lot to do with job prospects too. A small island isn't going to have as much available and a lot of people's industries may not even exist there. That said, I would love to live out that way if I could find work!
