Hello Everyone,

I am planning on applying for a Super visa for my mom. I wanted to ask good cheap insurance policy plan for her. As her travel is not confirmed, I am looking for a policy that will easily change the dates without charging me anything and also refund me unused days easily after she leaves Canada.

Please let me know if your experiences and/or suggestions. Thank you very much for your time and help.

For a Super Visa, you need 1 year of medical insurance, but many companies offer flexible policies that allow you to change the start date and refund unused days when your parent leaves Canada early.

Look for companies that offer:
  • Free date changes if travel plans change
  • Full refund if the visa is refused
  • Pro-rated refund for unused days after your parent goes home
  • Low or no cancellation fees

Some insurers known for flexible Super Visa policies include:
Manulife, Allianz, TuGo, Travel Shield, and GMS.
