If all applicants want to have their oath taking customised to their special needs, imagine the logistical effort it would take. Otherwise everyone wants July 1st or their birthday or any kind of favorable day. That's why you are given a date, you take it, fine. If not, you get the next slot assigned to you.

There is a fundamental difference between test scheduled on a specific date and test not scheduled on a specific date. There is zero logistic difficulties to not schedule certain person on a certain date.

You don't necessarily need to inform them, depending on where in the process your application is when you leave. If you're a recent IP, then you're probably okay. You'll just want to know if something like an FP request comes, but even if that came the day after you left, you'd have plenty of time to get it done and the results back to them. You usually would get 2-3 weeks notice of the test date, so if that came just after you left, you'd probably still be fine.
