Let's say I pay the fees and GIC and get desired IELTS band. If I apply for my study permit and my wife's open work permit, will it be processed under SDS or normal processing?

That's what my education counselor advised me. I'm also on the same situation. I was told that you can use SDS for yourself, then apply for your spouse after you get approved via SDS.

Did you counselor gave you any time frame for Open work permit of spouse. Can we get it in 3 months.
Permits aren't guaranteed for spouses of international students. Processing will be faster if you apply for your study permit first. SOWP can take up to 5+ months. Really depends on the country and number of applicants.
