Hi guys,

I have something very important which takes 2-3 yrs to complete. My PGWP expires next July. I received my AOR today. When can i safely assume that my pr application is >70% approved? I know things can go wrong in between.

Also, i saw you guys discussed here that cic does a test to see if you pass the requirements for cec. How does that work?

Thank you all
;)

Generally speaking, there is no way to know for sure. You can get rejected anytime, even while landing, but there are some patterns. From what I have noticed, generally, and it is just a pattern and my opinion, God forbid you use it as a given, so generally after you receive your medical exam, Right of Permanent Residency fee request comes around that time. And if you have no criminal record, that means you can count on being approved more than less. RPRF means that you have passed the eligibility. Then if your criminal record and your health are okay, you know that you should get approved. Sometimes it is not the case though.

Once again, this is just my opinion, seniors correct me if I am wrong.

AOR just means your application is complete and I think now they also make sure you pass language test before sending AOR. The 70% overall number is probably right, but that doesn't have much to do with your individual application.

I don't remember taking any tests ordered by CIC except the language test..

Yes, Now that you have the AOR, you can always get a BOWP. So if the time remaining on your WP is your concern; that can be ruled out. Apart from that; others are right. Now it will depend on your police clearance and medicals.

AOR doesn't mean anything beside the fact that your application is complete. I would say 70% is after your medicals are done and before PPR.

One poster in an earlier thread said it best: until you get your CoPR and successfully land, nothing is certain.
Each stage in the PR process is a step closer to the ultimate goal, but until you actually get it, better to manage your expectations.

Thank you all. My fingers and toes are crossed!!

When should i expect medical request? Im wondering if the process is still take 13 months as projected after the cap implementation which aims to reduce backlog.

With the current timeline and if everything goes smoothly, you'll get it in 7-8 months.
