New Process CIC - Update - Landing

^Yes, but it's still CIC + it will be faster than having them send back a new COPR (not mentioning the CanadaPost risk). I'd prefer to do it face-to-face than do a back-and-forth. If I'd have sent them an email on corrections, who knows if I've gotten it back by now. By doing it yesterday, I...

New Process CIC - Update - Landing

^Yes, but what if (highly unlikely) they really need to clarify something with you, or in my case, I needed to point-out a couple of clarifications in my COPR. I think the CIC staff is better-equipped to handle all immigration-related stuffs.

New Process CIC - Update - Landing

^Good question. It's risky, but still doable. Check out the following: http://www.justlanded.com/english/Canada/Articles/Visas-Permits/Permanent-resident-cards http://settlement.org/sys/faqs_detail.asp?faq_id=4000607 http://canadianimmigrant.ca/immigrate/pr-card-myths-2 Excerpts: - The PR...

New Process CIC - Update - Landing

^Also, as I have mentioned yesterday, there is a Service Canada staff that will immediately handle the SIN change. AND, they will print out a new COPR with whatever changes you may have - no need to go through the amendment process. BTW, they did not stamp anything on the passport, nor...

    Landing at CIC Office

Good question. We planned on going to Niagara last Friday for flagpoling, but the Monday before that, I got an email from CIC regarding this landing appointment - completely unexpected and unsolicited.

    Landing at CIC Office

So we finished landing this afternoon at CIC-Etobicoke. The email they sent last week mentioned an appointment between 1-3PM. - We were there around 1PM. The place was full; most are doing their PR landings as well - What's interesting is that they printed out new copies of the COPR, with the...

Apply PR before starting of express entry

^You'll be back in Canada anyway, so it's better if your application is sent from Canada. Otherwise, send them a new address info if you change your mind and do not come back. If you want to make it formal, maybe you can appoint your friend or relative as a representative so they can send your...

    September 2014 - CEC Applications

^Man, almost all of the Panel Doctors in Toronto have bad reviews on the internet, whether immigration-related or not. I can say that the one from Etobicoke, College St, and St Claire W are the best among the others from this area. I spoke with my boss on this (a former Deputy Minister for...

    September 2014 - CEC Applications

I think doing it 6-8 months after submission is good enough if you really insist on doing upfront.

Apply PR before starting of express entry

^Also, take note that your employment letter should be dated after you've gained your one-year of experience. Can't you arrange to have someone send it for you from Canada, so the person can include whatever last-minute docs? Just sign those boxes that need your signature.

    September 2014 - CEC Applications

^What Gurindar is saying, and something I agree on, is that a medical request at least gives you comfort as to where your application stands. Isn't it more stressful trying to wonder what your status is? Sure you can order GCMS notes but this takes 30 days each time. Also, the medicals have a...

Waiting for Passport - Please add your case here

Out of curiosity, which address do you really reside? I assume the bank/utility/driver's license are the same. It's the ECAS/WP addresses that are different from the rest, is this correct? I have the same situation as I am using a relative's address as a mailing address for any...

Waiting for Passport - Please add your case here

^Your bank statement should have an address, maybe use that one instead? You may just print from your online banking access. Or print out your Hydro/Gas bills - these will have your address too.

Does TRV expire with new passport?

13.15. Valid visas in expired passports If an expired passport contains a valid visa counterfoil, the counterfoil can still be used since the expiration of the passport has no effect on the visa's validity. Holders of a valid visa may continue to use their visa until the date it expires even if...

HOW TO GET INCORPORATED - URGENT PLEASE

I would try to do it on my own than paying someone for simple matters. @praveeen: It's important that you read through the checklist plus all other info. They are straightforward but lengthy. Once you register online, you will immediately get your BN and GST/HST. CRA will send a confirmation...

Does TRV expire with new passport?

While what you said is true, what cec_hopeful is saying is that: - He will renew his passport now - Let's assume he gets his new passport this Jan 2015 - The old passport will have the TRV sticker that it is still valid (April 2015) What the other posts is telling him is: - He can use that...

All Set to Apply under CEC - Need some Guidance..!!

He's employed on a fixed contract (contractual employee), hence is eligible. The presence of a T4 confirms this. If the relationship had been as an Independent Contractor, then that would not have been eligible. In this case, the contractor invoices the company and remits GST/HST to the government.

Your GCMS Notes will be as of Oct 17 (give or take a few days). A lot could have happened between now and then.
