Following has been my timeline so far for spouse visa:
Application Received: June 10th 2019
Confirmation of Spouse Sponsorship: August 7th 2019
Biometric Letter received: 3rd September via mail
Biometric done on: 13th September
Medical Letter received: 15th September via mail
Medical Done: 23rd September 2019

What can be expected next? The status shows 'In Process".
I do not understand what else could be pending? Would i directly get a Passport Request now? or is there something else that's pending?

What about BGC?

The entire process typically takes a year, though for American spouses it can be faster.

What's next is the background check. It takes a long time.

More waiting is what is next.

There is still lots that they could be working on. Background and security checks, relationship check, etc.

So, how long would i have to wait to get my passport request?
Also, what is pre-arrival letter? and when is it sent and why?

The entire process takes about a year. It's sometimes faster for Americans.

Given that you submitted in June 2019, I would expect passport request by June 2020.

Woah...! that's a long time. I've heard people get their visas in 3-4 months. At the most 6 months. I've been reading up on the latest timelines.
