We haven't even gotten our 3rd line (we started processing) on the PR side yet, but have already received a request for additional documents today. That being said, our VO is Lima, one of the absolute fastest! Additional documents were requested only 1 week after SA. Last year Lima was ending out PPRs after only two weeks. Not sure if that helps at all.

Would you mind if I asked what additional documents were requested? Did you miss something in your application or did they ask for more proof?

I think its basically different for every VO. CIC will always confuse us by not following the same procedure in every VOs. In case of LVO as i can see my fellows, this line doesn't mean anything now. For cases till Aug 2015, this lines meant that they have started working on the applications and the Ecas will soon change into DM but afterwards AUG this lines just means that sit quite and we will not let you guess anything what we are doing.

lol...I remember the same thing with my FSW application..."in process" actually meant something then. Now I'm not quite sure, reading the comments here just burst my bubble. Wishful thinking..... :(

Thank You Mandie, very interesting! May I ask where you got all that information from?
I feel like most of this is just a guessing game
From Eagle's thread, which has been the reference point for me and a lot of others. It is an insightful thread actually..

They asked for the FBI Certificate, we had only submitted proof of delivery at the time. So we have to send that, plus the re-requested a copy of my husbands birthcertificate and Judical and Penal Certificates from Peru. The nice thing is, they let us scan everything and email it. That way longer delays are being avoided

Even the FBI IHSR letter? They keep saying that the PCC must be the original, so scanning and attaching the image file means that it is NOT the original.

Truth is, since there are zero security features on the paper, it's good to hear that they understand how ridiculous this is.

majority of us still are still stuck in that phase and will most likely stay stuck there for several more months.

No I meant the thread titled that was mine. Sorry.

I know, I was surprised too. But they asked for all documents scanned in the same email!

As per CIC FAQ:
What does the CAS case status in process mean?
“In process” means that a case processing centre or visa office has received an application but has not finalized it yet. Therefore, for the rest of the application processing time, Client Application Status (CAS) will show the application’s status as “in process.”

Why has the status of my immigration application on CAS not changed, even though I sent it a long time ago?

Client Application Status (CAS) may not show some activities on your file for many weeks. That is because the visa offices and the case processing centres get a lot of information.

In many cases, an in-process file is actually waiting in a queue for initial review. Applications are handled in the order they are received and on a case-by-case basis. The waiting time in this queue can be long. Applications are processed according to the application processing times at a given location.

In addition, CAS does not show some other actions—such as security checks—at all. So it may appear as though nothing is happening to your file, even though you have had interactions with Citizenship and Immigration Canada recently. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=306&top=3

Hopefully this new pilot detailed status online come May 26, will give us more insight into what is happening to our files
