Allo, did they ask you for any additional proof of your intent to return to Canada?
They did not ask for any additional proof.
I did include property ownership and mortgage documents, as well as some employment/business-related ones with the application, - hopefully those would suffice.

I believe they don't reject without asking for additional proof first, so you should be good. :)

Just curious: even though of course there is no way of knowing for sure (anything), I was wondering if there were ever reports and/or some trends with the Warsaw Office that I could ask about.

What I'm wondering is:

1. I assume, before they reject an application, they first ask for additional proof and/or an interview, right? They don't just reject without letting you know first?
2. Do they usually stick to their processing time (10 months) or do they seem to churn out some decisions before that time? I am just curious if there's any point hoping they'll be done in 8 months rather than 10 (it makes a difference in the sense that I might need to apply for a WP extension if there is nothing by July (August 7th would be 10 months starting from October 7th, but I should apply August 1st at the latest for my WP extension if I want to have implied status during the time of processing of the WP extension)
3. This is important: do they typically extend the medicals, or do they expect you redo them if they expired? Here the problem is that mine will expire at the beginning of June, but if they ask me to redo them I will not be able to do the xray again until September, at which point my WP would have been expired.

I understand there are no definite answers, but I am curious if there are, say, tendencies that can be observed with this VO. I noticed many applicants, for instance, landed in 8 months, although as many waited the full 10 or even more, and so on.

Thanks!

Typically they will ask for more information. By ordering the GCMS notes every month you can get a sense of what they are looking at and at what stage your application is. They should be able to do your application by 8 months as that seems to be the trend. That should give you the space you need for your medical.

This is just my guess from being on the forum. From your question about WP, I am assuming you are in Canada with your spouse. A lot of the delayed applications are when the sponsor is not in Canada and CIC wants more proof that the family intends to return to Canada. When you are already in Canada, the application is much smoother.

Ok, thank you both very much!

I will order GMCS notes when I'm back to Canada (leaving for Poland for 2 weeks to see my family), hopefully there will be some movement in the application by then.

Thanks very much for the reassurance! :) All best :)

Another advantage for you is the fact that you live with your spouse, because that makes your relationship look more genuine.

Thanks! Indeed, we live together, have since Sept 2014, so hopefully the VO will not have many doubts about our case, but indeed, GMCS notes might be most helpful to figure out where they are and whether they have any concerns or not. It's just that I am very anxious to have DM before my medicals expire, hah, one can dream! :)

The only problem I had with GCMS notes with my wife's sponsorship was that the way Warsaw works there is no movement on your file for months while your online status says "In process" and then within a couple of weeks it changes to Decision made. So only the last GCMS notes that I ordered after seeing Decision made contained the VOs notes about eligibility etc. Until then it only had the note that my sponsorship was approved for which I had received a letter anyway.

good point, ski. since you can only get GCMS notes once a month (and it shows information that is at least three weeks old), you can only get some useful information if you're lucky to order them in a specific window of time. So really, there's not much to do besides waiting patiently. :)

For us it was just the opposite. We were able to see that they were going to want some additional documents and we had them in their hands before they got around to sending the request. Definetly saved us a lot of time.

Yeah, that's precisely what I am thinking, that it's good to be prepared if they signal among each other that they may need something extra. And it's not like it costs big money to order these notes... Besides, I assume there will be trace of some initial communication between CPC in Mississauga and WVO, maybe with some preliminary indications from the CPC Officer? I see from the GMCS description that only my husband can order them, right? Even though we live together in Canada, but I am neither a PR (yet, hopefully! :) ) nor a Canadian citizen. Or can I order them myself?

He'll have to order those, but don't forget to attach the "Consent for access to information" form IMM5744.
I also attached the original "Use of a Representative" form IMM5476 which we submitted with the application, - just in case.

Just checked ECAS and saw "Decision Made" on the permanent residence portion of the application. ;D
No updates in MyCIC though, so we only have to hope that the decision is positive.

tacitus77, you might wanna check yours in ECAS too, as according to my calculations you must've been ahead of us in the line.
