any guess on what all activities can be involved in stamping PR visa on your passport.

I see it as very straight fwd activity .... actually one of the forum user's passport was with CIC for 1 month and he requested
his passport bcoz of emergency ,they returned his passport without stamping so i m thinking what the hell they were doing with passport for 1 month ,
i dont think they are stamping 100,000 visas in a month ..isnt it?...

so are they doing some more checks or verification or what? .... any guesses..

Yes, you are right. they sent him the passport back without stamping visa. it is very unfair . why would they have to hold our passport for so long. In case of emergency how can we travel.

I was informed by friend of mine who got residency last year, she said they take 2-4 weeks to return your passport. Lets hope for the best!

well, its tatally different, i have a lot of friends who got immigration in the last few yrs. some of them got their passport in 1 week and some got it in 1-2 weeks, we cannot predict anything . its totally depands on them how they process.

Agreed. One thing I've realized over the last couple years (+ friends experience) is that you cannot predict timelines - accurately that is. There is definitely something going on at CIC these days. Overall, people are not getting DM, PPR and other updates on their application for the past few weeks. Also, people have started to get Passport copy requests instead of PPRs - they schedule appointments for you. It could be because of vacations, other activities or simply training for the new Express entry program.

Let's hope we do hear something soon
