Visa will only be valid for one year from date of medical examination, not issue date.

not a bad idea. so it means I have to take our documents and travel and upon entering Canada with my dependants, we will all land at the airport. The issue is that my dependants will be ready by November and I wont wait till then to land. I have to get ohip b4 February 2014 to enable me have my baby at the hospital

Please refer to the Status table posted in this thread...just scroll back to last page, you'll find it. As such there is no fixed number of days for it. But then the trend is about 3 weeks.
