i havent received a passport request yet but will soon hopefully... i have searched this forum quite extensively for this question but didnt find a satisfying answer.. i would really appreciate if any member could help me in this regard..

Q - im residing currently in canada and my spouse is out of canada and doesnt have a visit visa to come to canada.. its illegal for her to send passport out of country to get PR visa stamped.. by any means (through courier or through someone bringing it personally).. i have seen this question in the forum before but unable to conclude what did people end up doing... can anyone please guide me on this issue if they knw wht cic policy is in such cases?? do they entertain getting spouse visa in her own country?? i dont thnk it'll b possible for me to get visit visa for her on urgent basis since it might take a long time before her passport returns after visit visa application and we might miss the PR stamping request by then... urgently and desperately need advice.. thanks in advance

My tracking number got activated yesterday (July 31st, at 6:04 pm).

Should receive the passports today. Finally, after about 53 days of waiting.

Hi curiosity_mars,

the best thing to get your friend to bring those here with an notarized authorization letter and I'm pretty sure that is not risky at all...I did the same and worked good for me!!

Hey guys,
My passport reached ottawa on Jul 8 and tracker activity yesterday Jul 31st.

I am tracking the post and found that it has reached my city but has been mis-sorted, instead of going to my local postal office, it went to another postal facility in my city.

I am a fan of UPS, don't particularly like Canada post.

Is xpresspost delivered by the post man multiple times during the day? Or is it delivered only once a day like our regular mail?

Can anyone kindly post on here a format for the PPR letter you receive from CPP-O. I am asking as my spouse in another country but i am in Canada.

So right before I got the passport request I had asked my MP's office to follow up on my application. They wrote back today and had this to say :

"I have just spoken with CIC. CPPO received your new passport on July 29th. Everything in your file looks good and they are working towards finalizing the application. They could not provide a time estimate for finalization, but said the final review would take place around the end of September. I know this seems like a long time to wait, but their queues are very long."

They received a copy of my new passport on July 29th. They had requested a copy of my new passport in a separate email from the email of the passport request which arrived on the same day. Ecas shows decision made. My passport arrived at CPPO on Tuesday. GCMS notes show deadline to finalize application as August 19th. Why are they telling my MP's office the end of September? I am kind of freaking out

There is a line for the deadline to finalize application. 2nd or 3rd page. It's usually a year from the date the application was submitted

Haven't contacted them yet as I just sent my passport to them on Tuesday. Will wait a few weeks and see what happens. Fingers crossed.

if you are lucky you will get your passport back in around 8-9 days. Most people got it around 13 days lately.
