please I need help from seniors:
I forgot to send a returning envelop in the passports package I sent to New York office coz it was not mentioned in the email I received from them.
What should I do?
please RSAP!

First of all I am surprised why you have not read email carefully and missed the instruction provided.
if you are in Canada why you decided to send Passport to New York

Anyway coming to your original Q. If applicant forget to attach return Envelop, it will come to your mailing address via Canada regular post, which may take 3-4 days extra to deliver and no tracking for that

I guess that's because his file is currently in New York ?

Yes they will return by regular mail.

First: This is the office I received my 'Ready for Visa email' from. And also this is where my application was transferred to.
Secondly: I read the email word by word and complied with the instructions, yet there is no mention whatsoever of returning envelop. I quote:
Courier Service: Unless it is prepaid from a corporate account, we will not return your documents using ANY courier services (Fedex, UPS, DHL).
For addresses in Canada:
Standard Procedure: The Consulate will return documents to addresses in Canada via U.S. Postal Service First Class Mail (Regular Mail).
Courier Service: Unless it is prepaid from a corporate account, we will not return your documents using ANY courier services (Fedex, UPS, DHL).
This office does not acknowledge receipt of passports.
Passport(s) are returned by mail within 30 business days. This period does not include mailing time.
So, do you recommend sending a returning express envelope to them with an explanation letter or just wait for their regular delivery?!

Not sure where you got those words. But here's what it says in mine:

If you have a mailing address in Canada: To allow you to track your passports through the mail, we strongly recommend that you purchase two (2) PREPAID Canada Post Xpresspost envelopes (National), letter-sized (318 x 241 mm), at any Canada Post retail outlet. CPC-Ottawa accepts no responsibility for any passport lost in the mail.

- Complete the mailing label on one envelope showing your mailing address in the “Deliver To” field.
- Keep a tracking number sticker from each envelope.
- Fold and enclose the self-addressed envelope in the other envelope along with your passport(s) and a copy of this request letter.


Obviously, the second prepaid envelope is the returning one having mailing address to the "Delivery To" field.

Photograph Specifications


The photograph must:

Show a full front view of the person's head and shoulders showing full face centered in the middle of the photograph;
Have a plain white background;

The photographs must measure:

Between 25 mm and 35 mm (1” and 1 3/8”) from chin to crown
Have a 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8” x 1 3/4”) finished size.

**Photographs must not have staple holes, stamps, creases or tears in them.
