waiting for new passport need help please

My passport expires on APRIL 23 and thats when my current visitor permit expires. I have sent in for my new passport i know i should be able to apply online for an extention before the 23rd but it may not be a full thirty days before it expires. Will i still be ok? I do plan on sending in my sponsorship papers after my medical has been done April 21. but i need a document before they will renew my drivers license which expires on my birthday in april uggh any help would be appreciated

CIC recommends applying 30 days prior to expiry but you are actually allowed to apply up to the day before your current status expires.
