Work Permit duration

Hello guys! I have a query. So, my work permit application (Outside Canada) has been approved, and I have sent my passport for TRV stamping. My Passport is only valid until next year, and I know that the TRV will also be valid until the validity of my passport. That is why I am considering applying for reissuing/renewing my Passport and getting a new one before traveling to Canada. The question is, will the work permit issued by the Canadian officers at the Airport have validity until my old passport is valid, or will they issue me a 2-year work permit, since I will have a new passport as well while traveling?

Also, one more question, IF they will be issuing me the WP based on the validity of my old passport, will it be better for me to apply for re-issue/renew of my passport in Canada? Cause I want to travel ASAP and it will take time to Re-issue/Renew my passport here in India.

WP will be issued based on the validity (minus 1 month) of your passport , the one you used in the application. Most likely, a new passport won't help. But you will be apply to apply for extension within Canada.
