Can I get new passport while waiting for Sponsorship application ?

Hi, I am in the process of applying common law sponsorship. I already have all the document ready and just got police certificate ready to submit my application. However my passport will expired soon in Feb 2026 and I would like to ask if I can get new passport or I should wait until I get everything approve and PR status? Which it might take longer and my passport might expired. I'm kinda scared. If you have experience or know please help! Thank you

Just apply. Lots of people have to renew or replace their passports during sponsorship. It's no big deal.
