Hello Chelsea - so you applied for a VV twice - first on old portal, then next on new portal? Was that OK - did the new portal detect that you had a pending application on the old portal and just continued it (i.e. you did not have to do biometrics again)?

Hi. Yes, twice. Old app (GC Key) has no movement up to now, gotta withdraw that one. It was in the new portal that the VV got approved .

The system updated the new portal app (IRCC Portal) with biometrics info (same day of application submission) as biometrics is valid for 10 years. There is a question in the new portal if there is a valid biometrics, and it would link it with your app if u answered yes to it.

Thanks Chelsea! One more question - did you get a refund for the first application you submitted through GCKEY? I assume you had to pay a new application fee on the new IRCC portal....

I will try to ask for a refund (in behalf of mom who's applying VV) after withdrawing the old app but I think IRCC offers no refund.

Yes, had to pay the fee on both app.

Hi. We got our visa approved last 2018 and I remember going to that place for the interview and probably biometrics (can't remember). I'll be renewing now because our passport is expiring on July. I just want to clarify, if I plan to use the GC Key, do we have to go through biometrics again? GC Key is more convenient for me since it was what I used before.

Any update guys?
My mom just completed her medical exam on March 23rd. St. Luke's said we have to wait for 10 days for the result to be uploaded in the IRCC portal. So no update yet... Did you do upfront medical?
