Visitor Visa TRV from India Dec 2017

Hello,
Recently applied for visitor visa for less than 6 months outside Canada for my wife’s parents from India on Dec 5 2017. File no received. We both are PR of Canada and have good job. Case is still under processing. Anyone close to this timeline? Cic website says 24 days now. Is that working days or calendar days ?
Provided letter of Invitation, Purpose of travel, financial support documents from India, Financial assessment of assets from India submitted with application. We have given our pay stubs, tax assessment report and Job offer letter but didn’t give bank statements.

Reason for travel: seeing the newborn child of daughter and tourism. Any idea how long it will take.

Congrats! my wife applied visitor from india online on dec 4 but we are still waiting. God knows how long its going to take. Can you tell me how they contact you after they approve the visa. Does vfs contacted or cic

Ircc website says 24 days. I am not sure if it’s calendar days or business days. Once the application is approved or if there is any update or need of further documents they will contact the applicant through my cic messages. Applicant will receive a email in their personal email address saying you have a message in my cic and pls log in to read them. Then you have to go my cic and all the way down the page you can read messages. Good luck

1-Parents marriage certificate
2-Financial asset evaluation (even though it is not needed for visitor visa)
3-My wife passport copy to prove they are parents
4- planned trip trave ticket (block ticket-don’t have to pay)
5- we both are PR canada. So our PR card
6- our wedding certificate
7- our previous year Tax returns
8- few pay stubs
9- our job offer letter to prove we can support them if needed
10- invitation letter from us
11- Statement of purpose by applicants.

Statement of purpose:

Applicant write a letter to Canadian Visa officer regarding their purpose of visit. They have to convince the officer that they will return to home country after the visit and will not try to stay in Canada illegally. We should show our ties in home country. Have to give them a clear plan of your trip. Intended departure and return dates. Where you will stay, travel, which province, purpose etc. No documents needed for this. Just write a letter and attach as additional document.

Hi, can I ask a question about the number 2 point - proof of fund? So far I know the visitors (in this case, your wife's parents) are supposed to show proof of fund. Did you have to submit your bank statement as well? Can you please make it clear?

To begin with, my wife’s parents did show proof of fund in Indian savings bank account and few fixed deposits in India. They also did asset evaluation by a chartered accountant and attached that document.

No, we did not submit any of our banking details or statements. But, we did submit last year tax assessment document from CRA, 3 months salary slip/pay stub, our job offer letter, and a letter from us saying we will cover their expenses in Canada if needed.

one of my friend applied after us but they received visa ... we applied all the documents same as they applied .. .. please help me with your valuable suggestions..

I’m so worried ... is this delay indication of rejection???? Or they kept my file aside???

Pls don’t worry about this delay. There were lots of holidays within this timeframe. That could be a reason. They will ask applicant for more details if needed and then only they keep the file aside for reviewing on a later date. If you didn’t get any email after that just stay positive and wait for the surprise email. My friend got visa approval for their parents in 4 days. It all depends on the officer and when you applied. If the officer see everything handy and simple, and also if he or she is a fast decision maker you will get it soon otherwise they go with the flow. Keep checking emails and my cic account.

I have applied for visitor visa on 19th dec,2017. Its been more than one month i have not received any update. How much time does it usually takes?
I applied through agent by offline paper process.
