Visitor Visa still in process, can I get a work permit started?

Hello there,

I am currently applying for a visitor visa (I was under an open work permit for a year but couldn't get an LMO before it expired) and there is an employer willing to hire me and provide me with an LMO.

Do I need to wait for my visitor visa to get approved before applying for the work permit, Or can I start the work permit process while I'm waiting?

Any advise will be very appreciated.

You can't start the work permit process until you have a LMO.

Sorry but maybe I wasn't too clear with my previous question, what I need to know is if I can get an LMO while I'm waiting for my visitor Visa or not.

I know I need the LMO to get a work permit but I don't know if it is legal to get one when I am still waiting for my visitor Visa to get approved...

Yes, if you can find an employer who is able to get an approved LMO and you are qualified for the position.
