Visitor Visa linked to invitees Work Permit

Hello,
I have a closed work permit which ends in August 2020.
I am inviting my parents - they are applying for Visitor Visa.
Would they be provided a VISA only till August 2020?
Should I mention in the documents that I would be applying for an extension of my work permit?

Any visa your parents get is not linked in any way to your work permit. Your parents must demonstrate their own ability to pay for their visit and have ties back home that will ensure they leave Canada after the visit.

The validity period of their visa will be either the length of their passport, or a shorter period determined by the visa officer.
