Visitor Visa Delay - Jordan

I applied for a visitor visa in Jordan on July 15th 2013
Was informed that the process takes 5-8 weeks , its been 14 already and still no answer
checked with the embassy and was informed that it is in the security check in Canada.
Does anyone know how long this takes or anyone going through the same thing?
