I have a similar situation myself - visiting sibling who is a Canadian PR.
Applied on 24th October 2021 from new portal and also requested for written authorisation letter.

Yes, I did gather and complete the formality of "IMM 0006 E : APPLICATION FOR AUTHORIZATION AND STATUTORY DECLARATION" during the initial application submission process in the month of March 2021.

My mother got visitor visa (Renewal). However, when she sent the passport to VFS global in India by mistakly she forgot to send letter of approval with it.
Which was main letter from IRCC.

My wife has given her biometrics but they were not captured as her fingers have worn out. The concerned visa official has mentioned in the remarks column that it is due to old age. Now my question is if she is asked to apply for biometrics again and she faces the same issue what is the fate of her application? Secondly, whether she has to book again for biometrics or she can walk into the visa office and give her biometrics??

In case of mine vfs people also struggled to get finger impression uploaded and gave some remarks, but these hv been updated in gckey

It is uploaded in the the gckey, but status has not changed. The visa official also told us that biometrics have been uploaded but IRCC may ask for redoing biometrics if thay are not satisfied. Under biometrics it still says biometrics have not been received!
