Hi Folks,
I am in the process of applying a visitor visa for my mother and I am a bit confused while preparing the invitation letter. Let's say if I mention the duration of the trip as 2 months in the invitation letter and the visa is approved ( A really big assumption, I know

). When the time comes to travel, would the CBSA officer only allow her to stay for 2 months, or she can stay longer (3-4 months) if she wants. The reason for keeping the duration as 2 months is as currently the processing time in her country is quite high and realistically, she can be here only from July till September as she needs to be back home by mid-September. But in case, the processing time comes down in the first quarter of 2026, she might be able to get her visa processed by April-May and then can travel sooner and stay here longer.
Cheers,
TFR
