Hello,

My wife's sister had applied for a visit visa for a 15 day visit during her summer college break in May and it got rejected for "Other reasons" She is in her second year of college and has a year left. We are trying to piece together the gaps as to why it got rejected in hope of applying again and would really appreciate any help or guidance. With her being a 19 year old still in college with a year left and wanted to visit us we didn't expect it to be rejected since she has to go back to complete her year.

We are not sure what else we can show to prove she will come back.

These are the documents she had submitted.

Her documents:

Original passport
Passport copy
Aadhaar Card
Letter from college certifying she is a student and has to come back for her final year
Passport photos

Moms:
Passport copy
Aadhaar card
Pan card

Dads:
Letter indicating he would support his daughters visit financially for the 15 days
Passport copy
Dubai resident card
Aadhaar card
Pan card
Financial statements

@draxz1289

You have not posted the TRV refusal reasons.

Unfortunately, it is easy to see why your wife's sister was refused. She has not provided any strong reasons to return to India + inadequate financial documents.

IMO, if her study program - which is her only tie - will not lead to a professional degree (Read: I'm guessing she is a student of a non-professional undergraduate program like a BA, B.Com, B.Sc. as it is a 3-year course), it is not a compelling reason for her to return

@Bryanna thank you very much for the reply.

The reason stated was Other: Given economic conditions, employment prospects, considering your travel history, economic establishment and family ties, I am not satisfied that you would respect the terms of your admission as a temporary resident in Canada".

Could you expand on what is not a strong reason to return back? She is 19 and needs to come back to finish her college so she can graduate so she had shown the letter certified by the college. You are right that her only tie is her study program but also their home/property and her parents giving there.

And a 19-year-old her dad had provided his financial documents with adequate funding for a 15 day trip plus a letter stating he is sponsoring her

In your opinion what other documents would you recommend? Perhaps, property details of their parents and her saving account?

When you say professional degree, do you mean specialized fields such as engineering? She is studying BBA which is still a professional degree no? - Interesting haven't thought about it that way

As a young 19-year old student, her TRV application has unfortunately checked all the refusal boxes..... she does not have finances of her own (cannot change that situation because she is a student) + no travel history (which would have otherwise helped) + unemployed (again, she is a student so it is understandable) + not married/no dependent family members, etc etc.

IMO, she does not have any strong ties to return to = Possibility of her overstaying her visit.

Her parents' properties cannot be shown/will not work as a reason for her to return to India.

Unfortunately again, a BBA from an Indian university is not in the same league as say the same qualification from the US/Europe
