My fiance has applied for an ETA as of last friday, Sep 19, 2025. She's a Brazilian Citizen with a valid US B1/B2 Visa, which she got issued also last week in a way to not only make her eligible for an ETA but also to facilitate her flying to Canada connecting in the US.
In the form we said that there she didn't know the trip dates yet as we don't really know the exact date that she will come up, and also that she's a Self-Employed Interior Designer in the employer field. I have done the ETA before for my mother and some friends who came to visit me, and everyone gets the approval within 5 minutes. In her case, she got an email saying that her application was under review and that IRCC would contact her in 72h, which expired on Monday, Sep 22, 2025.
On Tuesday, Sep 23, she submitted a webform asking for a status update also sending a copy of her passport Bio page and her US B1/B2 visa, for which there was no response yet. When searching for her ETA application status on IRCC website, the status is as below.
I have never seen such a thing before, she has been to the UK (with an ETA) and Europe Union this year as a visitor with me, never had any visa rejected anywhere and literally just got a 10 year B1/B2 US Visa. It should be quite straightforward.
Should she reapply tweaking the application? I.e. define a date for her to come and state that rather than unkown date?
Any advice is more than welcome.
