Hi,

1. Considering the fact that you are on a valid TRV, you can get it change to study permit and for that you need a valid admission and a proof of financial capacity of around CAD 10,000/year.

2. Your spouse has two options:

-either he apply for an Open Work Permit (OWP) based on your valid study permit which shall be valid only upto the duration of your study permit. You should NOT expect any OWP based on your PGWP. To continue, he has an option to apply for a full work permit based on a positive LMO.

2. Or, your spouse apply for a full work permit based on a job offer and a positive LMO (Labour Market Opinion). For this, he need to search for an employer who shall file an application for LMO to the Service Canada, HRSDC. There is NO surety to get a +ve LMO.

@ enfield, can she apply from Canada? Also can the attempt of turning VISA into WP affect the chances of getting WP itself? or probably PR?

@ Rano it seems you wanted to immigrate and you have, but why didn't you go the immigration way?

You need to be more specific about schools from which region are you looking for? Most of the people move to Regina, so here is a list of schools in Regina: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_schools_in_Regina,_Saskatchewan

For checking average occupation based wage this link might be helpful. http://www.workingincanada.gc.ca/report-eng.do?action=search_occupation

Hi,

1. You need a study permit to study in Canada (for courses longer thn 6 months). You should apply either from Canada Visa office, Buffalo, USA or from your country of citizenship.

2. Your spouse can apply for ‘Open Work Permit' (only after the issuance of your study permit) either;
-at buffalo office,
-while entering the Canada,
-or at the ‘Case Processing Center, Canada' (if already in Canada).

3. First you need admission letter (LOA) from your school, and a financial capacity of around CAD 10,000/year. There are other requirement as well. You can download ‘Study Permit Appliation made outside of Canada' from www.cic.gc.ca. Check out for other stuff as well.

I quote you; "and after completion of 1 year diploma will i eligible to Apply PGWP?"

-Yes, you are eligible. However, you NOT eligible if you pursue any diploma/certificate course from a PRIVATE college (it does not matter even if they recognized/authorized to grant certificates)
