Visa Refused for Winter 2013 - Should I Apply Again? Please suggest

Hi Guys,

Here is my profile:

10th - 75.5%
12th - 63.4% (passed in 2000)
Took admission in B.Sc(Hons) in Computer Science in 2001. Though I have attended all 6 semesters I had 3 backlogs which I never cleared and started working in 2004 (so my highest qualification remains 10+2).
IELTS: Overall band score 7.5
I have 8 years of experience in the BPO industry and currently working as Asst Manager - Training in IBM. I had applied for the Post Secondary diploma program 'Business - Human Resources' in Sheridan College. But my visa got refused for the following reason : "Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualification, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, language abilities or your future prospects and plans."

Should I change the college and/or program and apply again in May or Sep? Or should I forget it? Please suggest friends.

That's the problem, I don't know what would be considered as relevant in my case! I have science background and even for the incomplete attempt at graduation I had chosen Comp Science, but my work experience is in BPO and related to Training and facilitation. My interests are more towards arts. So I have no idea what's a relevant program for me!!!

Any suggestion?

I think the real reason is your study gap. You said you have study gap of 8 years. May be they are thinking that after 8 yrs who needs diploma degree and that also higher secondary? It also makes sense to me that no one will do diploma courses after 8 years. Try to take admission for master degree and try your luck again.

How he can apply for masters without having graduation certificate??

Another thought, please share your opinions:

I am currently enrolled in IGNOU for BA in English which will be completed in 2014. After I get the Bachelor's degree from IGNOU, can I apply for IBM or GBM in Canada?

1. Is graduation through correspondence accepted in Canada for application in post graduate programs?
2. Can I get visa for IBM/GBM if my graduation degree is BA in English? I will also have work experience of 10 years when I will apply in 2014.

Please suggest guys.

Since you have not completed 16 yrs of education i dont thnk you can go directly for any graduate degree

urs is a clear mismatch...u started as comp science then u worked in training (i believe training in customer care) then u apply for human resource which has no relation to ur past studies neither with ur past exp......u should complete ur bsc and show them ur serious about studies and then apply for something related in comp science and show how ur comp science helped in ur training work exp.

I have received my file today. Here are notes from the Visa officer:

"Has completed his bachelor in 2004 in science. No formal studies since then. Currently working. 8 years gap in studies. Unclear why he wants to go back to school after this long period. Only 1 semester paid"

I am currently pursuing BA from IGNOU which I will complete in 2014. Should I apply for a Graduate program after completing my BA? Do you guys think they will give me Visa if I complete my Graduation here and apply for a Post Grad program?
