Hi,
I am planning to study in NAIT, Edmonton, AB. Can someone please evaluate my case and give me guidance accordingly? I will be thankful.
Matriculation: 2001, Computer science.
Intermediate: 2015, Commerce (unfortunately, that is the only subject available for private students)
Certifications: Cisco, Junipers, Vmware, Microsoft and Redhat Linux
Work experience: 7 years with a multi-national company (Mobilink - Orascom Telecom) + 3 years of self-employment and the client who can verify it, is a registered EU entity.
Why study in Canada specifically in Edmonton (NAIT)?: My brother-in-law studied from UofA and he actually convince me to study in Canada instead of Australia (Where my brother is currently enrolled in MBA).
Course: Diploma credit program - Network Engineering Technology (pre-requisite for their Under-grad program of the same major. Have to take admission in Diploma)
My fundings: self-employed with financial reserve of approximately 31 lac PKR (unless my wife paid for her iphone).
Source of income for family: My wife is self-employeed, masters in computer science and earning equally as I am.
Country of Origin ties: Wife, 2 children, a car, mother and brother. Our properties are in the name of my mother (worth more than 1 crore)
Travel history: Nil (Was about to depart for KSA for Umrah and Iran for Pilgrims but now reluctant if that impact my application)
Criminal record: NO
Ties in Canada: Brother in law and her wife (PGWP - probably PR applicants)
IELTS: I believed Exempted as per NAIT's website. However, I am confident I can secure at least 6.5 in each module.
Reason for gap in studies: Had to look after until sold father's business then certifications and technology attracted me.
I didn't apply yet and need some honest (even if it is harsh) advice.
Thank you.
PS: I regret I didn't mention my country of Origin. I am from Pakistan.
