Hello,

I'm planning to do masters in Canada and I had applied for Canada PR thru Expresss Entry in 2015. I wanted to know, if my student VISA will be rejected on ground of PR Application, since the PR aplication indicates my intention to settle in Canada permanently, but the SOP for VISA application would assure them that, I intend to move back, once i complete my education in Canada. Kind of Deadlock situation here....

Has this happened to anyone before? Has anybody's student visa been granted successfully, inspite of a PR application to Canada?

immigrant and non immigrant are like parallel lanes they never meet and have their own standard and specifics - your TRV or student visa rejection has nothing to do with intend to settle on PR

Im from Philippines. Actually, I am planning to re-take IELTS to add on my points (currently under CLB7 only). also, husband will take IELTS in March. But Im still looking if we can go with the student visa. I would like to verify, do I need to take a course related to what I took up in college here in the Philippines? Is it okay if once granted with Student permit, can I shift to another course once Im there? (from IT-related course to Child Care)

How delicate is the OWP for spouse if I have the student permit? Husband is currently working in Dubai, will it affect the application?



In every province, including Qeubec, is the education for kids (5 and 6 yrs old)

Yes it is possible to change course as long as it is in the same institution. Just write a strong Study Plan to show your sincere intention to study. In your sop you have to correlate the program of choice (no matter what field it is) with your educational and career plans after graduation. I got my student visa 3 days ago. I finished nursing in Manila and Im taking business program in Canada this Fall. Good luck!

I have a question regarding BC PNP, to be eligible it states : program needs to be within the past two years- I am confused does past two weeks means if I complete earlier, will it be a problem for getting work permit and being eligible for the International Post Graduate PNP track?

Hi there's no problem in you applying for student visa. Theres a thing called "Dual intent" that CIC considers and as long as you comply wih everything requested in the studet visa having a PR in process will not bring you any trouble.

As a matter of fact, I was in the exact same situation; PR in process and needed a student visa for a post graduate. I applied for Student and in 2 das got approval for it and for my husbands Open work permit. PR still in process.

Quick question, I just submitted my app for my master's at a Canadian university. I did my bachelor's in the US (fully in English), so the uni doesn't require me to provide IELTS.
I took IELTS (general format) for my PNP app. My question is, do I need to retake IELTS (academic) to prove immigration of my English proficiency during student visa processing?

I need advice please. I entered my Expression of Interest for Manitoba PNP and created an EE Profile. I have not heard any info or LAA from Manitoba from Oct. 2015 till date. I have an opportunity to apply for a course on Sept, 2016. So i had to delete my EE profile but i couldn't delete my MPNP profile ( I would like any suggestion in doing this though).

There is a portion of the Student Form that asks if one has ever applied to migrate to Canada.
Can i say NO since i have deleted my EE Profile and Manitoba hasn't contacted me yet since Sept 2015? I dont want my application to be considered not genuine. Thanks.

My wife has got admission offer from one of the colleges in Toronto. Please help us on the below;

- I want to accompany her and apply for open work permit. Can she apply for my open work permit at the time of applying for her study visa;
- The online application requires " purpose of travel -others" as one of my supporting documents. What is this and how can I obtain it?
- Our 2 children would also accompany us as minors, who would attend school there.Can she apply for our children visa (10 and 4 years old) at the time of applying for her study visa. If yes, what type of visa it would be (study visa or temporary resident permit);
- Do we need "letter of acceptance" from any school in Canada for our school going children as the online application as requested the same as their supporting documents. Where and how can we obtain letter of acceptance?

I want to apply for summer session in Ryerson University for Project Management course.

I have completed BCA (2007), MCA Correspondence (2010)
Had been working in IT industry since 2007, so in total I have 8 years of experience

IELTS : 6.5 (R-5. W- 5.5, L-7, S-7)

I want to know is it must to take loans for paying my tuition and GIC funds. If I have enough amount in my account will that work.

My friend in CANADA is on PR, can she pay my fees using her credit cards OR the payment should be done from my account.
Also can you guys please tell how to proceed for GIC account. I will however also query with Scotia bank.

One last question, I stayed in UK for an year Aug 2013 to Aug 2014, in the form IMM1294E (Application for student permit made outside Canada) and IMM5257B_1, where I need to select previous travel, I dont UK listed in that list. Can anybody please verify it for me.

Hi Experts,

I have had an acceptance letter from one of the universities in Canada. I want to apply to study permit. The intended duration to stay in Canada is two years from 2016-2018, and it is written that the passport must be valid for at least one month from the date you intend to leave Canada, in my case 2018. As Syrians, our passports’ validity is only two years and the problem with my wife’s passport which has am expired date in April 2017.

Please could you guide me what to do in that case?
