I did exactly that. Landed last week in Toronto. In one of the forms that you are going to give to the landing officer, it says you are entering Canada with the intention to stay at least 12 months. God news is, since you already sign this, they don't really ask you if you are going to stay or go back.

I came back to the US this week and nobody asked any questions. The only question was from Air Canada check in personnel asking if I am resident of the US and I said yes. But other than that, nothing.

You mentioned you are in the US, so i assume you sent your passport to Ottawa. How did you get them to send it back to you? I cant find a courier that does the return label shipping thing

I briefly moved to my home country (India) to apply for my work permit, so I did go through NDVO, yes.

Ah I see, how long did it take them to respond to your email on when you wanted to make the change to a local VO? I sent an email to CIC but they gave an automated response of service standard is 20 days, time isnt on my side smh

I didn't need a change since I started my application in Delhi.

I am in H1...expecting a PPR in 30 days. Does anyone know if it is advisable to send passport to CPC-Ottawa for visa stamping? Is that allowed to send passport across border??

I did send mine across the border using fedex and it was fine. You'll have to fill out some custom forms info and chances are your package might get an extra look but it should be fine, thats how I did mine. This is just my experience, yours might differ

Can we show work experience certificate from a company from abroad while we were staying in usa on f1 and then on an ead card ?
I came to usa in 2015 June on F1 visa, but continued to work for an organization in london. I continued to work for the company in london even though I got my ead card in usa. Will my work experience from the company not be eligible or counted as continuous work exeperience?

Hey everyone,
I had a question about one of the companies I worked in.

It was a new VW dealership in Saudi Arabia that was owned by a big construction company. Unfortunately, the VW dealership was closed in 2017 but I left the company in December 2015. Should I mention that the company was closed down in an explanation letter? The parent company is still active.

I have the company reference letter with my salary and the latest salary slip to prove that I did work there.

Also, I am in the USA right now and I plan to submit my application from here. However, I might move to my home country in August. How will I inform CIC of my address change and will that affect my visa processing timeline?
