OMG, Canada Post has got to be one of the slowest mail systems I've encountered! I only live a 2 hour drive from Ottawa. I wish they had offered me the option to drive up and pick up the COPR. I was looking at my OHIP appeal response I got back in July and it took 9 days to get to me and it was mailed from the same city in which I live. :p I have no patience. Jamsham, have you gotten your COPR yet? I know you are a half a week ahead of me. I really wanted to get landed and get my car imported before my car insurance runs out on the 25th.

No COPR yet :-\, has your ecas updated with a line item stating that they sent correspondence regarding the decision, mine still has line item 4 which they requested docuemnts in June, spoke with a few other who have had DM's in late October same story. Spoke with a cic agent, told me no letter has been sent yet :o

Ugh, that's alarming. No, my last line is still "medical results have been received."

I just talked to a CIC call center agent. Good news is she was very friendly and cooperative. Bad news is she checked my file and the last update in the system was on November 3. They put in that I had all the necessary paperwork and my file was complete. They had to put "Decision Made" because they have "a limited number of templates" to use. So, according to her, a decision has not in fact been made after all. :( I don't know how to take that. I guess I had better start looking for an insurance company that will cover a US car that has a driver with a Canadian license. Also, I jumped the gun and already paid the RIV fees. If I don't import the car within 45 days of doing that, I'll lose $25 and have to fill out all new forms and submit again. Oh, and I applied to University as a permanent resident thinking I was... I just hope I get that COPR by Feb 1st, otherwise I'm in a lot of trouble. Meanwhile, that 4 cm mass on my left lung will have to wait. I was all excited thinking I'd soon have some health coverage and make sure I don't have cancer. UGH!! So much frustration!!

WOW :o, I have had a couple agents look at the file and tell me they cant confirm if a decision has been made and two agents looked at the file and stated the application has been finalized, why would they classify it as "Decision Made" on ECAS if a decision has not been made but if you look at the definition that CIC put regarding DM on ECAS it says DM is that there has been a decision made on the application. Try phoning another agent and see if they will give you another answer.

Wow, this is so really crummy!! I recieved my DM at the end of October and nothing has arrived!! We are moving in 2 weeks and now I am totally freaked out since my husband will have to give up his green card to get Ohip. I also have 2 children to put in school. This process is so emotionally draining!! I hope they will allowi me in as a visitor for the time being. Would you print out the decition made?

No wonder the call centre agents have stated no letter has been sent out, kind of makes sense how there is no additional line item stating they have sent our correspondence on the decision even though Decision Made is seen in ECAS. WTF is up with the process changes all of a sudden from Ottawa. SMH.

Maybe I'll give it a try then! What info do I need in crossing the Tunnel? I've only ever gone over the bridge. Anything special I need?

Kind of off topic a little bit.
I live in Southwest Detroit near the Ambassador Bridge. In case you care about these sort of things, the guy that owns that bridge pollutes and tears apart our part of town. He owns a whole bunch of land and lets it rot. He is one of the biggest villains our city has (and we've got a lot). The Canadian and American government both own the tunnel and to repeat what a lot of other people have said, I've had a better time using the tunnel.
So if you care about where your toll money goes, stay away from that bridge.

On the bright side of things, right after I posted my last reply, I got my notes. I ordered them on October 17, but got them early and the date at the top says I ordered them October 30th and I have updates all the way up to October 31st on there. I have a "recommended pass" on my eligibility check as of 10/31 and criminality was started on Oct 22nd with RCMP reporting "no trace" on Oct 31. The security check had not been started yet, but my file had been sent to 'FCP for review' and the notes at the bottom stated that the VO thought our relationship was genuine and it met all the requirements and he/she recommends me for a conditional PR. Seems like I'm all set, just waiting on them to wrap up the final paperwork and issue the COPR. The question is what the heck are they waiting for?! Surely it won't be too much longer. I agree, CIC is confusing the heck out of me with all it's process changes lately.

I might be totally wrong about this, and obviously sounds like you've gotten confirmation that COPR hasn't been sent, but even when it is, I don't think there's a line on ECAS that shows that. Or maybe it's just that people stop checking once they see DM. But I know there are a bunch of people who get DM, see COPR hit their mailboxes several days later, and they never say anything about that 4th line...

We had 5 lines that dropped to 3 lines and now have medical rec'd on the 4th line...I think everyone is putting way too much stock in the number of lines...and there is so much info on this site from people who have planned their lives based on DM on the site only to have to wait days and sometimes months before that got they paper work...if nothing else people need to wait till the paper work is in hand before making any major moves...even myself...we planned to move last year or summer 2014 and we STILL have nothing in hand..we had our interview and we were told that if medical was rec'd she would have given us the PR right there and then....now we are waiting.....we are ready to go including making sure the cats and dog have all their shots and paper work in order but we are not packed...We started this entire process in 2009 and have had disappointments and triumphs but have learned that if it is not in your hand its not real...

Hey, all. Happy Sunday!

For those of you who've landed, how long after seeing DM in ECAS did you receive COPR in the mail?

I got DM yesterday, and I currently am "living" in Toronto. I'm trying to gauge approximately how many days from now I can stalk my mailbox.

Thanks!

I'm also in the GTA, and I got my COPR in 6 days. Congrats on your DM :)

Awesome! Thanks, ChellyCat. I'll look for it sometime next week. I appreciate the info. Hope you're enjoying the weather! Nice to still have green on the ground this time of year . . .
