It only costs $5 to get your notes and I think you get them within 30 days, so you could definitely do that if you want there's not really anything to loose. Aside from $5, of course haha

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, hopefully the notes can give you some answers. The reason they aren't replying to you is probably because the current processing time on their website is 13 months, are you are below that(for now) so they don't feel obligated to help you at all. It's really awful of them but that just seems to be how CIC operates =\
Thanks. I'm sending away for the notes today. Hopefully I'll get some info!

It's only $5 if you have someone else (in Canada) order them on your behalf. That is known as an "Access to Information" request.

It is free if you are in Canada and ordering them on your own behalf. That is known as a "Privacy Act" request.

Thanks computergeek! I was just about to pay, haha. I am curious though what info I should be requesting. Electronic files or physical files? Immigration file: permanent residence or Sponsorship file? I appreciate the help!

We recieved the PPR request today (please update the CCP-O spreadsheet). How long does it typically take for COPR to arrive once scanned passport is sent to CPP-O?

Regarding COPR -- I am a May applicant, PPR Jan 18th. I have a bit of an update.

My husband's student visa expires next week, so we went to the border hoping to get a one month visitor visa until the COPR arrives.
We get there, and the border guard wonders why we want a visitor visa - in the system he sees that my husband was already granted PR status!
He said the COPR should arrive within the week, and the delay is likely due to the snowstorm in the states right now.

The border agent ended up giving husband a stamp in passport good for 6 months, he said "it would not make sense to give you a visa, because the computer says he has been granted PR already"

Good news for people who recently got PPR - they ARE coming!

I've always found the CBSA officers to be the most reasonable about these things.

Congrats!

That's because they don't work 500 feet to the south. By comparison with the agents on the US side, a rabid moose would seem reasonable.

I've been hassled about equally either direction. CBSA is the only side that's ever searched my automobile, though (it was a Zip Car, no less, so it didn't take long, though you never know what other people have used the car to transport...)

But I have Nexus as well, which minimizes the hassle factor.

Still, if I'm going to be hassled, I'd rather have it done nicely.
