LOL Understand the smart phone.... Well, considering I never got it to send in, maybe they will make an allowance? If not, I can get another one done. Hmmmm...wondering if I should just do another one in the meantime (while Sponsor paperwork is getting approved.....and that's a 3 month process anyways....so by the time they get to my paperwork, it's got to be around 5 months....SO CONFUSING! >:(

That's what I would do. Get a new letter from the FBI (who knows, maybe it will be dated when they print it) and start up ordering a new FBI letter - you could wait until you SEE the letter from the FBI to determine the date on it, or you could just send it out now.

Good luck!

So, how DOES that work, anyways? The Police/FBI report is only good for 3 months, but that's how long it takes the Sponsor paperwork to be done. When they get my (PR Applicant) paperwork, isn't it already expired? Does CIC offer allowances for that?

There are two dates:

(1) CIC must receive the FBI clearance certificate within 90 days of its issue date
(2) As long as it is received in time, the FBI clearance certificate is valid for one year.

Hope that helps.

VERY. Thank you! Guess I'll go get more fingerprints done. So glad the RCMP is so easygoing about it here! :D

When I did this, I picked up two sets "just in case" - the FBI will accept finger prints done within the past 18 months.

I just mailed off "THE BEAST"!

I called the FBI again and the "Search Completed Date" (assuming this is what's on the paperwork) was 7/16/12. So, I have until 10/16 to get it in the hot little hands of Ottawa. I'm taking my chances. If I don't have it by then, then I know to get a second set done and it WILL get to Ottawa by the time they start my paperwork for PR. WILL!! BWWAHAAHHAAA!!! :-\

Hmm, I wonder if this means they'll ask us for another FBI clearance later on. My husband's "search completed" date was June 15, the letter itself is dated June 22. CPC-M received our application on July 9 and I just received the sponsorship approval email yesterday - Sept 20. We never received an AOR.

Effectively, the sponsor approval letter is the only AOR you're going to receive.

They shouldn't ask you for another FBI letter unless processing extends beyond next June.

You should be okay. The FBI clearance letter needs to be with the CIC within 3 months, but if you get it to them within that time, it's good for a year from when it was generated.

Just got notification that the sponsorship is approved and the Visa Office is LA - no mention of CPP-O ::) . They're giving a wait time of 10 months for stage 2.
