Health care is provincially administered. It varies by province, with Ontario being one of the stingier (you must have PR for outland and AIP for inland apparently) and Alberta and PEI seem to be the most generous (a spouse of a resident appears to be eligible) with BC being a bit in the middle (spouse with a pending PR is eligible.) Check with your provinces health organization.

Just checked for Ontario. 3-month waiting period from the time you have "established" residence. You can apply once you have the proper documents. It seems that the Record of Landing, secondary proof of ID (like a credit card) and a document that proves established residency (rental agreement or driver's license for example) is enough to get the process started. Just have to hope nothing happens during that 3-month period to my spouse.

Drats, grasping at straws. The Gov't of SK states:
Special Classes of Newcomers:
The Saskatchewan Ministry of Health covers health services for certain special classes of newcomers from outside Canada who move to Saskatchewan on or before the first day of the third calendar month after arriving in Canada. If you are among the groups identified below, you may be eligible for benefits from the day you move to Saskatchewan.

•permanent residents (landed immigrants)
•people discharged from the Canadian Forces and the RCMP
•non-immigrants who are in Canada in connection with their trade or profession
•international students
•returning spouses of Canadian Forces members
•returning Canadian citizens
•returning residents

I called and was told that the DAY I'm approved is the day I'm eligible without a 3 mo waiting period. But I was hoping the wording was similar...those who have applied for PR and are a spouse of citizen.

Is there a benefit/need for a "co-signer" in the Sponsorship application?

If you're sponsoring your spouse, you cannot have a co-signer.

It's so easy to overthink this stuff.

So I just realized the 0008 form I submitted is from 02/2012. I downloaded the form in June, filled it out in late July, and then submitted it on August 18th...

Hey guys,

Our interview was with Buffalo on June.19/2012. It was cancelled. Nothing was received after this. I contacted my MP and her assistant found out the update.

The file was transferred to Ottawa on July.27/2012. Medical is expired and they will forward the letter with new medical instructions. How long does it take for medical?

She also mentioned that background check is not done. How come? If interview was set up for June.19, it should be done long ago. Do you guys know what is going on?

Also should we get another FBI done?

Any updates for those who had their interviews in June or July?

I also want to order notes.

Do you guys have required forms:

I already have access to information and personal information. I think I will need consent form as well. Where can I get that from?

Also do they email notes? because it asks how do you wish to receive the records?
Email, CD, Paper Format and examine in person.

4: Are you requesting on your own behalf? No because it is for my husband
1: Access to information act
2: English

Please let me know.

That is exactly what I just about did. But, beings unforseen circumstances came up, I'm submitting it today and because of this forum, found out the form was changed again in July. GRRRR! What boneheads, how can they expect us to keep up?? I going to pray that yours doesn't get returned and CIC is showing some grace and leniency.

oh boy...let's stay positive!

I sent in my FBI fingerprints/application and CC payment form mid June and have yet to get anything back. I'm going to send our packet off today without it.

Think I should call the FBI and check on it, if that's even possible?

Yeah, I called the FBI back then and they told me that they were done and I would be getting it the following week.

I just called CJIS Customer Service Group at (304) 625-5590 and found out it cleared and was mailed out around July 22nd! I never got it, and LUCKILY they keep them for 90 days, so I can get another sent to me. HALLELUIAH!

I'm still going to send my package out, get the sponsorship on the roll while I wait for the clearance, but sending the email and letter requesting another copy of the background check in lieu of the actual background check. THEN, pray CIC will be gracious and not consider it already expired.

When I do rec'v it, shall I just mail it to Ottawa?
