I have a question on the fees.

Why do the PR applicants pay $490 and not $550 for A family member of the principal applicant who is 22 yrs or older and is a spouse?

In a previous thread, it was stated that:

There's three fees:
$75 sponsorship fee covers the review CPC-M will do of your application to sponsor
$475 is the fee you pay for the visa office to evaluate the applicant's application (i.e., your wife's application)
$490 right of permanent resident fee which covers landing, PR card, settlement services, etc.

So if the primary applicant has a child who is older than 22 and a full time student (or dependent upon the primary applicant) then the application fee is $550. But the RPRF is still $490 (it's the first thing listed on the chart).


If the primary applicant has a child who is younger than 22, the application fee is $150.

Wow. I completely read that differently. I'm a family member as his spouse and I'm over 22 (barely BWAHAHAAA) so I thought I'd be paying $550. Am I totally being thick headed?? : I don't get where if older/younger than 22 is about a dependent child. The dedpendent child fee is $150....

Sponsor: $75
Primary Applicant: $475
Child (< 22): $150
Child (> 22): $550
Spouse of Child (any age): $550

ok ok oko k I'm soooooooooooooo confused right now.
In my case, my husband is sponsoring me, so there are just two people involved,,, the sponsor and the principal applicant (me).
so from what I understand, the grand total is 1040 that is broken down int o the 75, 475 and 490. Is that correct? lol sheesh

Yes. $75 for the sponsor (your husband). $475 for the primary application (you). $490 for your RPRF.

Does anyone have an update on where Buffalo/Ottawa stands with our applications? I've seen some January applicants have landed, but others haven't even gotten a PPR yet. I've also seen some February applicants have gotten PPR.

It seems to be a little all over the place. Take a look at the Buffalo spreadsheet. The LA one is in my signature.
