What is this? Is this an AOR? Why didn't I get an SA? :(

What does this mean? :(

Yes that looks like AOR. If all goes well, you should be receiving SA in the days/weeks to come.

I got an email it said

Dear ---------------
This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on
behalf of--------------- and family (if applicable).
You have met the Federal requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for
Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further
processing.
Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the
Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s), you may contact the visa office by e-mail,
fax, or in writing as follows:
CPC-Ottawa
CPC-Ottawa, NHQ - Centralized Processing Region
219 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa ON
K1A 1L1, Canada
E-mail: OttPilot-immigration@cic.gc.ca

so though it didn't say sponsor approval anywhere in those words really, I took this as he had been approved as it was sent to Ottawa with a file number attached and my hubby's UCI. Plus I was also asked to send my CSQ application to the province which occurs following SA.

We have not even gotten that far, just a note by snail mail saying it's in process.
Everyone is getting e-mails, not us..were apparently going old school. Lol, hate the waiting game...

Did you provide an e-mail address in your application? They will communicate mostly via e-mail unless you left the e-mail section blank.

Darn. I wonder why others get SA right away and we get AORs?

The only question in my mind where I may be different is:

1) I am a naturalized Canadian citizen, not a native-born one.
2) I am employed via my own corporation. (But I did provide Option C printouts of my Income Tax return so that should be OK.)

Does your husband have any special characteristics?

We did provide e-mail in the application....
I think our application is going to so slow is because he has been married previously and I think that's a major hold up.. Other than that, nope were just the regular couple.

#1. doesn't matter. I sponsored my wife when I was just a PR. I got SA in less than a month.
#2. I doubt it

I just think Mississauga is overloaded. They have more responsibilities now. Overall SA times in general have gone up a lot since I sponsored my wife.

Hello All,

I am doing research on reasons why people do or do not use lawyers for their immigration applications.

Would appreciate if you could fill this in. It will take less than 2 minutes of your time.

Thanks in advance!!

The BOLD AND UNDERLINED states that you have MET the requirements. That means you are approved :)

I helped you out and filled out the survey. Lawyers are overpriced and a joke for straightforward applications!.. :)

correct, the "sponsor approval" letter simply states a sponsor has been found eligible to sponsor. THAT is the approval. "sponsor approval" is a term used on this forum, it is not what CIC uses.

We have Decision Made!!!! :) :P
