As per tracking number, my package was successfully delivered today. However, it says: Signature not available (Online signature not available). If you have questions, contact the customer service. I clearly requested a signature. Did anyone else experience this? Should I worry that there was no signature?

Thank you!

This happened to us too, after they lost our package, but they found it for us! Anyway, it took a few days for the signature to show up online but we were assured that it would be signed for.

Thank you for your reply. The signature appeared the next day :) I am very happy. Now I need to wait for the AOR or any other decision :)

Sigh... Now it came to my attention that I missed #4 question on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM0008DEPENU.pdf where I had to indicate the immigration office requested for this application. I am assuming I was supposed to write CPP-Ottawa, but I just skipped it (no idea why it didn't even come up when I validated the form). Does it really matter? Will they assign it automatically based on all the documents? Thank you!

Yes, they will automatically assign it. That field only matters if you have a choice of offices (e.g., you live in Country 'A' legally but are a citizen of Country 'B' - you get to choose!)

Great. So I shouldn't worry then. I am Canadian and he is American, so CPP-Ottawa would be the only one anyway. Thank you!

Hi All!

I am new here but this forum has been a huge comfort and help to know that we are all going through the same thing! Here is my question...

My husband is Canadian and I am American. The CIC website states that all new family class applications should be mailed to Mississauga so that is where I sent it and they receieved it on May 28. I requested the NYC visa office in question 4, but now I am seeing that you guys have sent your applications to CPC-Ottawa and found the section of the website which says US applicants should apply there. Should I have sent it there? Will they automatically transfer it to Ottawa and disregard NYC? I am a little worried because the processing time for NYC now says 15 months vs. 12 for Ottawa. I would appreciate any insight into this, thanks so much!

Unless you have a right to choose between two offices (the country of citizenship versus the country of legal residence) CPC-M will forward it to the correct visa office. So you could have written anything there (or omitted it entirely) and they would still send the application to the correct visa office abroad (in your case that would be CPP-O - Ottawa being outside Canada. ;) )

You're fine.

Thanks for your quick reply!! So this is still true if I am a citizen of the US and currently living there?

Yep! To CIC Ottawa is "outside" of Canada. I think they need a map haha. But yes it's fine :)

US Citizens can always choose CPP-O, no matter where they live.

Haha! You are right, they should really look into that one...

Thanks again, that makes me feel a lot better :)

Thanks for the response and clarification! I know I should have found this sooner but CIC could really stand to clean up their site and the conflicting information.

Hi Guys,

My interview is next month in LA. In the GCMS notes, I can see they need RCMP fingerprints and medical has been expired. So Should I go for it without being asked from me? or wait until interview...

Any suggestions..

Thanks

That depends on if you have the money that might be potentially wasted. If you're okay with losing another 200-500 bucks, then go for it. The reason I say this, is because they might just extend it, BUT if you get it done and they say they need a new medical at the interview, then you can just hand it to them and it'll be less of a delay (still will be one, but not as long). So it's a gamble really.
