Hi everyone:
I applied for your urgent PR card renewal and my application was received in office on 24 Sep (FedEx), but I didn't heared any thing from CIC yet, my Citizenship application is also inprocess as well.
I read in this forum that few urgent applicant got their PR renewed with in 3 days.
Any Idea how long it will take ?

You first need to determine whether you’ll be able to get urgent processing. Most people aren’t able to get the faster processing,

Wanting to travel is not usually grounds for urgent processing
I already determined the eligibility, and provided all required documents for urgent process.

You can’t determine whether you will get urgent processing. It is determined when you send in the application. Assume due to covid very few get urgent processing.

There is an urgent process for some reason and they mentioned the required documents for it. My question is not regarding eligibility its about timeline.
anyways thanks for your input

Unfortunately the majority of people who fall under the potential reasons for requesting urgent processing never actually get urgent processing. The eligibility list leads to potential urgent processing.

In pre-pandemic days in the United States you would get your travel document (as a PR) processed within days if you had family loss. I don't know if they do it as fast now, but I believe there is a recognition of dire urgency by DHS here. It doesn't seem to work the same way in Canada. I see a lot of posters who wait for months or even years for a new PR card, even those who accompany their application with letters and evidence of urgency.
Your only option (if you don't receive PR card to timely return to Canada) would be to apply for PRTD from abroad. But I don't know how long it takes to have it processed. Being a PR in modern Canada is a nightmare. Simple things, like production of laminated plastic card or 20 pages of paper with your name and picture on, take years. This is worse than third world country standards. In the worst of the worst, most corrupt country on Earth you can get your travel documents faster than in Canada.

I am sorry for your loss. Yes, attach the death certificate with a new application, and write "urgent processing" on the envelope. But be advised even with urgent processing, it may take at least a week to receive your card.
