Urgent, Need help about Security Check!

I just phoned CIC for the processing details of my application, one nice girl told me that everything is okay, including my criminal, security check, eligbility, but only the security check of my wife is still not finished yet. Anyone knows what does the CIC usually do for the security check? Does the security check need the feedback or verification of her previous company? How can I speed up the security check? I'm waiting desperately now as my current work permit is going to expire next month. Many thanks!!!!

I PHONED THEM TODAY AND THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO ME . THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED. I THINK I AM GONNA KEEP BUGGING THEM EVERY WEEK UNTIL I GET SOME INFORMATION FROM THEM .

Security check is the last stage of checks and it is not done by IRCC (CIC), but rather done by CSIS (Canadian Intelligence) and other agencies. This done to check whether the candidate can/will pose a security threat to Canada, such as terrorism, espionage, etc... So it is out of CIC's hands when it will finish.

Thank you very much for your information. As ordinary people, the security check is supposed to be finished very soon, right? What I concerned is the check needs the feedback of her previous company, which may make the time long as that company is rather inefficient. If her company is going to be contacted, maybe I can do something to speed it up. Any ideas? Thanks.

It has nothing to do with her company, that's the role of the background check. The security check is done at the governmental levels. Like FBI, CIA (USA), CSIS (Canada), and so on. So it might be stuck at your country's intelligence agency and hasn't been finished yet.

1-888-242-2100, It really depends on the agents, most of time I was refused for my inquiries, but one reason sometimes they answered me may be because my current work permit is going to expire and my application was submitted 5 months ago. Just keep trying, good luck!
