Urgent Issuing for PR Protected Person

Dear all,

I really need your help/support to explain to me what I should do to get the PR as soon as possible.

I applied for asylum in Canada on Sep, 2016 and I received the acceptance on Nov, 2016. I have applied for PR for myself and my family (Wife and son) who they are still in Baghdad, Iraq.

Due to my critical health condition (I have sickle cell anemia and bone necrosis in both of my ankles and my hips, and I did a surgery on Jan 2017 and going to do three more), I have contacted the CIC to issue the PR urgently so I can bring my family to Canada to help me.

I have sent all related documents with medical letters to the IRCC office in Alberta by mail and they confirmed they have received the mail.

The answer that I got from CIC by phone is the normal processing time is between 19-20 months for PR issue protected person, and there is no special case especially I have health card which allow me to get health care here in case I needed.

I really need my wife to be with me and my son, and I have very difficult time now during the recovering time.

Is there any suggestion from you how to expedite my application? If so, how?

Thanks,
Ahmed

Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do. I don't believe there is an expedite process for bringing your family to Canada.

So, I have to wait for the issuing of PR to bring my family?

I have tried visitor visa, but we got refusal.

Is there any hope to minimize the 19 months waiting?

There's no chance that visitor visas will be approved since visitor visas are for individuals who only plan to come to Canada temporarily and your family obviously plans to remain long term. You will have to wait until their PR applications are processed.

It's certainly possible processing will take less than 19 months (it could also take more - processing times are just estimates). However I don't think there's anything you can do to minimize or reduce the processing time.
