Hello everyone,

My FBI fingerprint card was rejected. anybody here who experienced the same situation?

is my understanding correct that I do not have to send another $18 processing fee? here's what was written in the report:

"Your fee has been processed and will be waived upon resubmission of your new fingerprint card, your returned prints and this form."

also, any suggestion where i can go to be fingerprinted? I'm in Los Angeles, California. I do not want to go back to the same private fingerprinting site.

Please advise. Thanks,

Try your local police dept. or another private fingerprinting service.

Hi Sri,

are you in Los Angeles also? LAPD does not do fingerprinting to public. I read that in their website and as far as i remember, i called them last month that's why i have no choice but to go to private fingerprinting location.

My wife had hers rejected two times and it worked only during the third time. You do not have to send the $18 fee when you send it for the second time. However for the third time you HAVE to send the $18 fee.

We did it from my local district police headquarters. We did it from the same place all three times. It took over 2 months to get her FBI clearance.

stlguy: FBI Fingerprint card rejected

Hi stlguy,

I am confuse because from what i understood, the $18 will be waived for the first reprint. I am planning to have 2 fingerprint cards to re-submit to make sure. does it mean that i need to send $18 for the 2nd fingerprint card on my resubmission?

thanks,

if you send two, wouldn't they just use one and reject the other for lack of funds (which would be okay with you right?)

You can send two fingerprint cards in your second attempt. They recommend that you send two.. If at least one of them is fine, they will issue the clearance. It all goes under your $18.

Incase if both do not work at the second attempt and if you have to send it the third time, that is when you have to pay again.. Based on what i heard they do not reject the third time. We got it in third attempt.

Hello Folks,

I am in very very queer situation and at my wits end.

I am an applicant from USA and here to get police clerance one has to

send their finger prints to FBI ( federal burea of investugation )

Now I had send mine and my wifes ( I am the primary applicant and she is the joint applicant ) to the FBI with our finger prints.

Mine just came fine back, but my wifes had an issue. She has the queer
medical problem named "hyperhidrosis" from child good. It means that

her palms get sweaty the moment she starts some activity. It is

hereditary and it is very tough on her and comes especially when she is

self consious "Like I have to get the finger prints right!"

feeling...There is no definite cure for this.

Now after we send the first prints, taken at the local police station,

they were rejected for her. Then we went to a far place where they

captured her finger prints digitally and then printed them on the pre

defined FBI finger print card and then we send it. We were very

hopeful, and the digital finger print technician also told that the

prints looks much better ( plus forgot to mention she has her some

ridges of her finger's not that clear ) from the last time but alas

today we got a reject on that as well from the FBI stating she has low

characters in her finger.

I am clueless on what to do ? Any help/suggestions ?

I mean if we go to a doctor and get a certificate from the doctor that

she has this mendical condition then would a Name Check be enough from

the FBI ? I am not sure if the FBI would accept this. But more than that
Would the canadian immigration accept this or would they insist on getting a finger

print clerance from FBI ? Would it be end of road for us for PR due to

this ? :-(

Any body in similar situation or know something please guide. What is

so painful is that it is not her fault and she never had even a

speeding ticket in her life !

Any help/suggestions would be really really appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I am also sailing on the same boat. But just to tell you, name check cannot be performed by individual. It can be done only by an agency or a institution ... in our case CHC.

Mine got rejected three times. As far as i know, there is no backup plan for this.

If you come across something, please let me know

regards
Sriram

This is going to sound really morbid, but contact your local police dept. and ask if they know of a fingerprint technician that has experience in taking the prints of the deceased. These technicians usually have a better ability to get readable prints.

Hello all,

I was in a similar situation a few months ago while trying to get my fingerprints taken....

Long story short, The local Police Dept here gave me the run around in getting them done, first telling me YES they could and it was FREE, then changing their story to YES where are your cards? Then to YES, but we charge $15.00 to have that service done.

So I checked with the local Police Dept 2 towns over (where I work) and got them done on some generic FP cards, but the ink was recently refilled and my finger prints looked awful, but the officer signed off on them and I sent them in, only to be returned of course.

With them I received a note stating the $18 would be waived, and that their computer/scanner could not read my finger prints properly. I went back and let them know my situation and a different officer took them again for no fee, I resubmitted the new finger prints along with the note and all was good.

I suggest if you are having issues with one dept, try another, or locate a private business to do them... Call ahead and let them know you have your own cards. For the most part it's a first come first serve basis.

I wish you all the very best... This process is very frustrating and I sympathize with you.

Hi all, I'm renewing an old thread here, but I am facing the same problems mentioned by people here and need urgent help and suggestions.

Hi kadeet,

im in a very similar situation like you. My husband's FBI clearance came thro successful. But mine got rejected thrice. I have sent almost 10 diff sets of fingerprints taken from local police stations in India. My right hand fingers are not in very good condition, since my skin is very sensitive, and due to winter weather, doing household chores etc, there are lot of scratches on the skin. taking treatment also does not help much for me.

what did you do to get your wife's fingerprints? is there an alternative by submitting a medical certificate or a name record check? did you find any solution? any help would be greatly appreciated. im totally lost now.

@sriram_06

did you manage to get a positive fingerprints response? pls let me know if you found some way out in your case.

Thanks all, and waiting for your replies and help.....
