UPFRONT MEDICAL REPORT!!!!

Medicals can be extended up to a year. I did advance medicals and my medicals were extended by a year. My PR VISA expiry was 1 year and 1 month.
Advance medicals didn't help a lot though but no harm though.

I have done upfront medical in Apr-2013 and CIC confirmed in Jul-2013 that they received the report.

But 2 days back I got an email from CIC. They are asking for medical report. But it's written in that email that it's an automated email.

Do I need to worry that they have asked for it or I should be ok since it's an automated email and also they have already acknowledged the reception of the upfront MR?

Hi godzilla,

I wouldn't be too worried about it. A friend of mine had the same situation and it turned out to be an automated message only.
But there is no harm in asking if the received it....

I was determined to make n upfront medical so I called a doc's office to schedule n appointment. However, the assistant talked me out of it. She said they had problems with angry applicants before so she wanted me b aware of risks. She said there is 'absolutely no guarantee that immigration will merge my medical with their file +considering the backlog it might take more than a year so they will probably request a new one' so she preferred me waiting till they send me a request. Does anyone know what she's talking about when she says 'they might not merge it'? Has anyone had any problems? Which form r u supposed to bring? Can someone post a link? Thanks.

1) What all documents should we carry for the upfront medicals?

2) What all documents should we expect from the DM after the upfront medical is done?

3) What we should do with the documents received from the DM and how?

Could someone help with these questions please? I've been thinking of doing upfront medicals also, because i have plan to have a baby next year and i don't want to postpone the medical test and prolong the whole process because of the pregnancy and x ray thing.

I was told to bring the form that CIC sent me by email, passport, work permit, case number n $250 cash... but once I told them I didn't have that e-form, they talked me out of doing upfront medical. Still hoping someone would answer my previous question (see my comment about merging

is the IMM 1017B provided on the same day you take the Medical Test? i took mine yesterday and the DMP didn't give me any kind of receipt. only a non-CIC receipt saying i took the exam. ??

1) Yes, When we went too IMM 1017B was provided same Day.
2) We got a simple payment receipt which had doctor's name and date.

I am not sure what non-CIC or CIC is ...

I have scheduled a upfront medical for 12th Feb. Doctor office asked me to bring passport and Work permit.

I have told them I have no medical request from CIC but I wanted to apply for WP extension and would like to include medical with request.

As medical is done for any WP purpose it will be valid for 1 yr by default.

Hi Guys,

I have situation where I would like to ask for your advice if I should go for UFM or not.
I am currently in Canada but my wife went back recently to home country (because of her job) and she wouldn't be able to come here until we get our passport stamped.
When we applied for PR (Second week of Oct 2013), she didn't have any UCI number as she was new to Canada and they didn't provide any Visitor record that time. But she got one later, which we already informed to CIC through email.
I have following question:

1. Is it advisable to do UFM if both the applicants can't do it in same place (country)?
2. Also, I am not sure if CIC has already updated her UCI number in the record, then I feel chances are more that they would miss-place UFM record for her, though I am not sure when she goes for UFM then she has to provide her UCI or mine UCI and application (AOR) number.
3. Is there any way to find if UCI is really updated in CIC's record? I tried to check e-case status using her UCI and other details but I couldn't find any record.

Guys I encourage you to post upfront medical experience here..Just like toby did...
Probably he can put them on the website too..Try to follow same pattern as he did...
Mine upfront medical is on 28th March...Calgary cost is quite high......180 for medicals only..
Not sure how much Xray n Blood test will cost
