Hi everyone
Just a couple of quick questions. We are applying for a common law visa. I am english, my partner is Canadian, and we live together in England.
On one of the forms, it asks how long we have lived together, there is a date box for 'from' and a date box for 'to'. As we are still living together, is it ok to write 'present' in the 'to' box, or do I need to write a date, i.e. the date of the application?
Also, is it ok to write N/A in some of the boxes that don't apply, or do I need to specifically write 'Not Applicable'? I just don't think I could fit 'Not Applicable' into some of the small boxes!

Sorry for the really anal questions, but I really want to get it all right, so the forms don't get returned.

Thank you all again,
Oliver

Write N/A, they know what it means ;)

As for writing 'present' I found that some of the boxes that require dates will not let you type in anything but numbers. You could write 'present' by hand; I chose to put the date of my application and hope they figure it out :)

Thanks for the quick reply. Did you fill out your forms on a computer? At the moment, I have printed mine and I was going to do them by hand.
I didn't know they would accept computer typed applications, that would be a lot easier!

You can certainly type the information into the form (that's what we did). However you can't save the forms - which is a huge pain.

We typed everything into the form and then hand-wrote in "present" where applicable once we printed the forms.

once i type everything in the forms, i'll print them and i'll be hand-writing "present" for either living together or current employment or current address or in his personal history details...i don't want to let anything ambiguous, thinking that maybe they figure out, especially things as important as still living together...

me too i was confused and still am abt this silly stuff; we shouldn't have these questions, there r more important things to worry abt; initially i write "Not Applicable" but then i saw some examples of how people filled in their forms in the past and i changed to N/A; also i remember when we applied for visit visas we wrote N/A and it was fine

You can save the forms but you have to have the software to do so. My hubby is a Software guy so he was able to do it. I think you need the professional acrobat reader (buy version) which companies should have. I don't know what else he did...but it was savable cause he sent me forms to double check and correct.

There are FREE software applications you can use to fill in and SAVE fillable pdf files. I use Foxit (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/), it's good and small.

Maybe i'll start a thread because I've seen this concern come up a few times. I also don't know how i would have filled out all the forms otherwise.
