hey man what if its the other way around im gonna do my 1 year masters first then look for a 1 year certificate/diploma?
and I cant do the certificate first because i have already been accpeted for 1 year masters and dont want to wait for fall intake

thank you
I am also in the same situation. Will be eligible if I decide to take a one year master degree first followed by 1 year post graduate certificate. For example 1 year MEng in Ece at Queen's uni followed by a 1 year pdcert in wireless network at george brown or a1yr network adminstration system engineering at conestoga thank u.

tbh i think you would have gotten a 3year for the masters alone but if you want to be certain then yes a masters followed by a 1 year grad certificate would be fine

But the duration of the master is only one year, actually it is MEng with project not thesis. Will that alone make me eligible. Thank you

Hi Guys,

Anyone from BC Vancouver area knows if MTI Community College (A private college) is eligible for PGWP? The school admins says they are not but I'm hearing stories about people graduating there getting their PWGPs. I just want to know if that's possible.

I'm in a similar situation, I'm transferring to UBC from a U.S college to finish the last 2 years of my Bachelor's degree, and I want to study another one-year certificate (NOT a Post Graduate Certificate) at another community college after graduation, does anyone know if I should apply for the PGWP after completion of my degree or after the one-year certificate (taken consecutively after the Bachelor's degree)?

I have questions regarding both situations below:

1. Degree 2 years -> 1 year certificate -> PGWP 3 years (Would they give me a 3-year PGWP or just a 1-year PGWP?)

2. Degree 2 years -> PGWP 3 years -> 1 year certificate -> 2 years of PGWP left? (Can I study full-time while on PGWP?)

Can anyone confirm?

Thank you for your help.

In another situation if I complete 2 consecutive one-year post graduation diplomas, would I be eligible for a 3 year work permit?

Yes, although have come across different forums concluding that the immigration officers would see it for the sole purpose of immigration & in return would give a 2 year work permit instead (due to same level of study, for eg.- pg/pg & not pg/master). There aren't many colleges offering 2 year pg courses in the area of my interest & doing single year diplomas gives a wider range of modules studied. Is any level of study accepted widely & only the combined years of study counted ?or there would be hiccups due to it in my PGWP application in the foreseeable future?

Workpermit is for 8 months every year. If you get one year WP, so actually it is 8 months. If you get 3 years WP, it is 24 months

Is this really the case?
So if I`m taking 1 yr(2 semesters) for post grad in events management AND
1 yr(3 semesters) for post grad in project management,

This will be considered as two full years even if it actually just sums up to 20 months?

hello.
so if i take a 2year dipl in these institutions (meaning tht i wont qualify for a pgwp)and apply again another 2 year diploma in another institution that is eligible for a pgwp, is it posible to do so?

i will obviously apply for the other diploma while still in canada before even graduating the 1st dipl, before my 90 day grace period expires
