TRV IMM5708 instead of IMM5257

Hi ,

I want to apply for a TRV for me and my family and the correct application to apply for this from within Canada is IMM5257 yet every time I do the apply online eligibility questionnaire on the site or through my MyCIC account, the application it generates is IMM5708. The applications are more or less the same except that IMM5708 asks you to check off one of the following at the top which IMM5257 does not:

Extension of my temporary resident status
Initial temporary resident permit or extension
Restoration of temporary resident status as a visitor

I don't want any of those options.

Why is it giving me this incorrect form?

My current status is Work Permit and my wife's status is Study & work permit.

Please HELP!

What did you write in country that issued your passport? It should be your home country.

If you could post or screenshot your answers to the questionnaire, that would help.

I've answer in all the ways possible, and always get the IMM5708 I need to travel and with that form the processing time is 99 days instead of 9 days. I don't know whats happening

I guess this is where your selection is incorrect:
1. What would you like to do in Canada?
You're probably selecting 'Visit'. You must select 'Work'

Hope your other selections are: 'Temporarily: More than 6 months' and 'Immigration status in Canada: Worker'

Thanks! it worked!!! but now my wife and son application generates the IMM5257, my wife has a student status and my 9 year old son a visitor record status.

In the questionnaire in What does your family member want to do in Canada?

I answer:

Apply to remain in Canada as a visitor

Because if I select extend study or work permit it generates a form for a study or work permit.

Hello everyone. My problem is similar, I am student and my husband is worker. We both have our study and work permit respectively. We are trying to renew our visas, but after the online eligibility questionnaire on the site, the application generates the form IMM5257 for me BUT the form IMM5708 for my husband. Searching on the internet the form IMM5708 is not the correct one, I have checked my answers and everything is correct and matches what you have said before here. I don't know if this form is correct now or what it's happening... I appreciate your help and guidance
